Consultation Scheduler

A future scheduling layer for advisory and support sessions linked to real VillaTax service contexts.

Overview

The consultation scheduler is planned as a more context-aware scheduling layer for advisory and support sessions. Where appointment booking provides the basic mechanics of selecting available time, the consultation scheduler goes further: it preserves the operational context that triggered the consultation request, so the advisory session starts with the relevant background already attached.

Why Context Matters in Scheduling

Generic calendar tools can book a meeting. What they cannot do is connect that meeting to the specific compliance issue, fiscal question, or service request that made it necessary. When a user requests a consultation through VillaTax, the session is not happening in a vacuum. It is happening because:

  • a compliance signal was flagged and needs expert review
  • a fiscal setup question has reached the limit of what self-service documentation can answer
  • a service request has been accepted and the first delivery step is a scoping call
  • a complex tax situation (nominee resolution, treaty claim, entity conversion) requires guided discussion

The consultation scheduler is designed to carry that context through the scheduling step rather than losing it between the request and the meeting.

Intended Scope

When released, the consultation scheduler is expected to handle:

  • Context-aware session requests, scheduling a consultation that is connected to a specific service, organization, or compliance question already in the system
  • Advisory session organization, keeping the pre-session context, the session itself, and any post-session follow-up linked to the same record
  • Integration with service delivery, as part of the broader service delivery workflow, the scheduler provides the structured time-based step that connects request acceptance to active work

The feature differs from general appointment booking in that it is oriented specifically around advisory and service-delivery workflows, not ad hoc support requests.

Current Status

This is not a live self-service feature yet. Consultation scheduling currently happens through direct contact and the services module at Services module. The consultation scheduler as a structured in-product workflow is a planned feature that will be released as the service delivery layer matures.
