Revenue analytics with P&L, platform breakdown, YoY comparisons, and ROI calculations derived from your actual journal entries.
VillaTax Analytics provides revenue analytics, P&L breakdowns, platform performance comparisons, and ROI calculations, all derived from your actual double-entry journal entries, not from raw booking sums. This distinction matters: a booking at Rp 10M gross is not Rp 10M in net revenue once PBJT, OTA commissions, and PPh are accounted for. The analytics module shows you what you actually earned.
Access the analytics dashboard at Analytics module.
The revenue view shows:
Net revenue is the figure that matters for P&L reporting. VillaTax calculates it from the journal: booking revenue entries minus the corresponding tax expense and commission entries. Gross revenue minus tax is not the same as gross revenue minus charges, the analytics engine uses the journal-based net (see the accounting design note below).
Every analytics view supports period filtering:
Charts adjust to show only the months or weeks that fall within the selected period. A QTD view in March shows January, February, and the current month, not all 12 months with the others blank.
YoY comparison overlays the prior year's equivalent period on the current period's chart. This requires at least 13 months of data in VillaTax. If prior year data is missing, the YoY overlay is not shown.
The platform analytics tab shows revenue attributed to each connected OTA:
This helps you identify which channels are most valuable and which are underperforming, without leaving the dashboard.
The P&L tab generates an automated Profit & Loss report from your double-entry journal data. It is not a booking sum with expenses subtracted; it uses the full accounting ledger.
Structure of the P&L:
The P&L is available by month, quarter, and year. Comparative period columns are supported when the prior period has data.
Revenue in the P&L is calculated as gross booking income minus charges (OTA commissions, cleaning fees). PBJT is shown as a separate line item in operating expenses, not subtracted from gross revenue. This follows standard P&L presentation, PBJT is a tax collected on behalf of the regency, not a reduction in your service revenue.
For investment-minded owners, the ROI section calculates return on investment per property:
ROI requires acquisition cost data from the fixed assets module. If no fixed asset record exists for a property, ROI is not calculated.
All analytics views use charts built for clarity:
Charts use pixel-based heights calculated from your actual data, not percentage-based heights that can render invisibly on some browsers.
All analytics views can be filtered to a single property using the scope filter. This shows the P&L, revenue breakdown, and ROI for one villa in isolation, useful when you are evaluating property-level performance or presenting data to a co-owner.
The consolidated view (all properties combined) is the default when no property filter is active.
Analytics data is live; it reflects the journal state at the time you open the dashboard. There is no scheduled cache refresh. If you import a CSV or post a new expense, the analytics update immediately on the next page load.
