Operations Transparency

A planned visibility layer to help managers understand what operational work is happening across the workspace.

Overview

Operations transparency is planned as a management-facing feature that helps leaders see how work is progressing across a multi-user, multi-property VillaTax workspace. The focus is on reducing blind spots in active operations, not monitoring team members, but giving the people responsible for overall performance a clearer picture of what is happening.

The Visibility Problem

As a workspace grows in users, properties, and modules, it becomes increasingly difficult for owners and senior managers to answer simple operational questions without actively asking team members:

  • Is the monthly payroll follow-through actually complete, or just started?
  • Which properties still have pending compliance items this period?
  • Which team member last touched the document workflow for a specific organization?
  • Has the booking reconciliation been done for all properties this month?

Currently, these questions require either manual checking across modules or asking the relevant team member directly. Neither approach scales well when the portfolio grows or when the same manager is overseeing multiple organizations and properties.

Intended Scope

When released, operations transparency is expected to provide:

  • Period-level operational summary: a view of what was completed, what is in progress, and what is overdue across all modules and properties for the current period
  • Cross-module activity visibility: surface meaningful operational signals from bookings, compliance, payroll, and finance in a single management view
  • Responsible-party context: who last acted on each key item, so the manager knows where to direct follow-up without guessing
  • Property and organization scope: the ability to narrow the transparency view to a specific organization or property when needed

This is a management tool. It is distinct from employee activity logs (which track individual user actions) and admin oversight (which focuses on sensitive administrative changes). Operations transparency focuses on the health and completion status of operational workflows.

Current Status

This capability is not yet live. It should be treated as a planned roadmap feature until a real dashboard workflow is available. When released, it will be accessible to workspace administrators and account owners.
